The Triangle Youth Philharmonic will open its 2009 season, November 22, 3pm, with two crowd-pleasing masterpieces. Beethoven’s beloved Symphony No. 5 will be performed on the first half of this full-length concert. On the second half, the highly talented young musicians from TYP will be joined by off-stage brass from the University of Chapel Hill Orchestra in the large orchestra masterpiece Respighi’s Pines of Rome. Written in 1924, four colorful movements demonstrate Respighi’s mastery of orchestration.

Members of TYP share a love of classical music and come from all over the Triangle to play together. Most are playing these works for the first time, on a level that most youth orchestras across the country do not attain, and they bring a freshness and excitement of discovery not often heard in professional groups.

Tickets are available at the door: Adults $10, Seniors/Children $5.
