Temple Theatre announces its final show of the 2009-2010 season, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific
Temple Theatre invites you to get swept away to a magical island in the crystal blue waters of the South Pacific. Please join Temple Theatre for their final show of the 2009-2010 season, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific, which runs April 29 – May 16, 2010. Although known for its extraordinary score including such classic songs as Some Enchanted Evening, Bali Hai, Honey Bun, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair and many more, South Pacific is also a deeply-felt family drama. Its portrayal of Americans stationed in an alien culture in wartime is as relevant today as when it first thrilled audiences in 1949.
Temple’s own Peggy Taphorn will charm audiences as the ‘cock-eyed optimist’ Nellie Forbush, while Michael Brocki plays Luther Billis, the fun-loving yet conniving Seabee who is always on the lookout for interesting projects. Ken Griggs, another Temple favorite, plays Emile DeBecque, a French plantation owner who falls hard for Nellie Forbush despite their cultural differences.
South Pacific is sponsored by First Bank, Bankingport, Inc. for the benefit of The Bread Basket, and WLHC-FM Life 103.1.
