THEATER OF THE AMERICAN SOUTH PRESENTS 2010 LINE-UP

Theater of the American South, a festival of Southern plays, food, and culture, has announced its complete line-up of festival offerings.  Theater of the American South will run May 13 through May 30, 2010 in Wilson, NC.  The festival will present two plays in repertory:  The Member of the Wedding, a touching portrayal of youthful awakening by acclaimed Southern author Carson McCullers; and Concord, Virginia, in which writer Peter Neofotis presents his own richly textured short stories from memory.  In addition, Theater of the American South is launching a new staged reading series as part of its 2010 season, which also marks the return of the smash hit Barbecue Bash featuring celebrated pitmaster Ed Mitchell.

The Member of the Wedding will be performed at the Boykin Cultural Center, 108 Nash Street W.  Concord, Virginia will be performed at the Lauren Kennedy and Alan Campbell Theatre on the campus of Barton College.  Performance tickets are $20, $18 for seniors (age 60 and above) and students.  Tickets for the special late night performance on May 21 are $10. 

Patrons may purchase a Season Passport Ticket covering all events (including one performance of each of the two plays) throughout the festival for $100.  A Weekly Passport ticket is also available covering all events during a given week of the festival (including one performance of each play) for $50.
