DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center welcomed their 500,000 patron during opening performance of Elton John’s Billy Elliot.

“We really wanted to continue a tradition we started when we reached the quarter-million patron mark.  It’s exciting to see how warmly the entire region has embraced DPAC. Whether it’s Broadway, concerts, comedy or family shows, the variety on our schedule truly offers something for everyone. The most important part of this celebration is it gives us the chance to send our thanks out to all of the 500,000 guests that have helped make us one of America’s great new entertainment theaters,” said Bob Klaus, GM of DPAC.

The lucky winners of the coveted DPAC Gold Ticket were Brian and Shana Odle of Raleigh.  The couple entered the venue at 1:40pm on Saturday, October 30th during the opening performance of Elton John’s Billy Elliot The Musical and were welcomed by three Billy’s, or should we say three of the actors portraying Billy in the musical, who presented them a Billy Elliot prize package, autographed programs, and posed for photos.

The Odles won an exciting prize package that includes opening night orchestra season tickets to all remaining SunTrust Broadway Series shows. Including The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein (Dec 7-12) and the highly anticipated landmark event Disney’s The Lion King (Jan 4-30) and were upgraded for the performance they were attending.

What’s up next?  DPAC’s next exciting events include Celtic Thunder (Nov 17) and Joe Bonamassa (Nov 20). For more information about these and more upcoming events, please go to www.dpacnc.com.
