10 By 10 in the Triangle
10 Plays, 10 Minutes, 10 Actors, 10 Years!
“Hands-down, the best short-play festival in the country.” Mike Folie, Playwright.
10 By 10 in the Triangle is The ArtsCenter’s international festival of new, 10-minute plays. This 10th installment of theatrical shorts brings to the Triangle the very best of the increasingly popular 10-minute format. From over 900 original scripts submitted from all over the United States and the world—including Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Russia, and Italy—a panel of theatre artists has selected 10 plays for this production.
From super heroes to Greek gods, Hamlet’s Ghost to guardian angels, this year’s plays examine everything from relationships, to family dynamics, job security, the meaning of life and life at the end of the world.
10 By 10 in the Triangle features regional and world premieres from playwrights as far away as Alaska, California, Texas, Iowa, Ohio, Rhode Island, New York, Georgia as well as two from right here in the Triangle. Ian Finley, playwright of Suspense, is the Director of Education for Burning Coal Theatre, as well as their resident playwright. And John Paul Middlesworth, playwright of Exit Right, is not only a Chapel Hill man, he is also a member of the Playwrights Roundtable, The ArtsCenter’s resident playwrights lab. 10 By 10 is, after all, international theatre at its most local.
All plays in 10 By 10 in the Triangle offer the audience a riveting, surprising, and unforgettable experience; all in less than 10 minutes. Get your seats court-side for these feats of theatricality!
