Common Ground Theatre Fall Line Up

DURHAM, NC – Common Ground Theatre ( is a performance and teaching space located in west Durham, offering performing arts and educational groups a flexible, well-equipped alternative space.  The Theatre provides a convenient venue for Triangle audiences to experience the diversity of our area’s arts and educational offerings. All events listed will be held at Common Ground Theatre. The Theatre is hosting the following events in FALL, 2011:


Little Green Pig Theatrical Concern Presents: Glass
Adapted from Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie, this new telling overlays J.D. Salinger’s Glass family with the Wingfields. Two of the mid-20th century’s greatest dysfunctional families bring firepower and grace to this re-imagined modern classic in the style of Little Green Pig’s Three Sisters (On Ice) and A Streetcar Named Desire.

Transactors Improv Company Presents: The Professors – Series Premiere!
Coming on the heels of the highly successful City of Medicine, Transactors Improv Co. is proud to present The Professors – a brand new serial set at a Triangle-area institution of higher learning. Watch the sparks between teachers and students, faculty and staff, town and gown – all made up on the spot based on audience suggestions.

The Forgotten
This 1-night only art show will feature the work of local artist Geraud Staton, all based on things forgotten. These things will range from ancient myths to lost arts. Geraud is giving 10% of all 2011-2012 art income to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, however, for this event a full 25% of all original painting sales will go directly to this incredibly worthy charity!

Ghost & Spice Productions Presents:  Last of the Red Hot Lovers by Neil Simon
Delightful, Hilarious, Sexy. Anxious to join the sexual revolution before it is too late, a middle-aged, married man lures three very different women to his mother’s unoccupied apartment. Common Ground Theatre Presents: A Trailer Park Christmas by Rachel Klem & Jeffrey Moore
Local filmmaker Jeffrey Moore and Common Ground Theatre owner Rachel Klem team up to present this interactive, holiday entertainment. Set in West Durham, A Trailer Park Christmas follows the Dodson/ Hussy family as they grapple with crazy neighbors, ghosts, fruitcakes and a holiday tornado.

What about Bob Bob has over thirty years experience as Creative Director at notable advertising and marketing agencies in Manhattan and Raleigh Bob's creative has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, Packaging Design Council, Magazine Design, Art Directors Club. In addition, Bob has been published in Graphic Design USA, American Graphic Design, and the Creativity Annual. In 2008, Bob was honored to Judge the Davey Awards for interactive and web design. Bob's passion for the arts has led him to utilize his talent and experience in support of the arts here in the Triangle by creating Triangle Arts and Entertainment.
