Coming to Downtown Raleigh!
The Downtown Raleigh Alliance is pleased to announce that Bida Manda Laotian Restaurant and Bar will be opening in Summer 2012. The business will lease space from Empire Properties at 222 S. Blount Street across from Moore Square in downtown Raleigh. The Alliance is excited to help welcome another unique and dynamic restaurant to our ever growing downtown.
Vansana Nolintha, and his sister Vanvisa, are the owners of Bida Manda. “The name of the restaurant is the Sanskrit ceremonial term for father and mother. We want to honor our parents in Laos who taught us everything we know about people, food, and hospitality. Our belief is that Bida Manda will become a gathering space for our community, a venue to share our culture, and above all else, a place to celebrate our exquisite yet unknown Laotian cuisine. Our downtown is evolving into a vibrant community and we are grateful to take part in its progress and to contribute to its food and cultural diversity,” states Vansana.
According to David Diaz, CEO of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, “We look forward to the ribbon cutting this summer! Downtown’s momentum continues!”
