Auditions for TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and FUDDY MEERS

Theatre In The Park will be holding auditions for the remainder of its 2012/2013 Season on February 25 starting at 7:00pm.  Please prepare a 1 minute monologue – dramatic for To Kill A Mockingbird, comedic for Fuddy Meers.  If auditioning for both, please prepare 2 monologues, a dramatic and comedic, not to exceed 2 minutes.  All ages and ethnicities are encouraged to audition.  Auditions by appointment only.

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee  Dramatized by Christopher Sergel – This traditional coming-of-age story is the tale of Scout and her brother Jem in 1930’s Alabama.  Through their neighborhood meanderings and the example of their father, they grow to understand the world isn’t always fair and that prejudice is a very real aspect of their world no matter how subtle it seems.  Ira David Wood III will direct and star as Atticus Finch.

Production Dates – April 12-28.

Casting 3 children, 7 women, 9 men plus ensemble of townspeople.

 

Fuddy Meers by David Lindsay-Abaire – Tells the story of an amnesiac, Claire, who awakens each morning as a blank slate on which her husband and teenage son must imprint the facts of her life.  One morning Claire is abducted by a limping, lisping man who claims her husband wants to kill her.  The audience views the ensuing mayhem through the kaleidoscope of Claire’s world.  Jesse Gephart directs.

Production Dates – June 14-30.

Casting 1 woman, 4 men

The roles of Claire and Gertie have already been cast.
