Stars of rhythm tap to share the stage in a unique performance

North Carolina Rhythm Tap Festival Faculty Concert

Take advantage of the rare opportunity to see some of the best tap dancers in the world together on one stage at the ArtsCenter in Carrboro, Saturday, June 8 at 7:30 pm. The performance is part of the annual North Carolina Rhythm Tap Festival, a collection of masters whose artistry and expertise draw tap students from all over the country. The festival artists will take the stage with the accompaniment of a live jazz band.

A tap performance in an intimate venue like The ArtsCenter is a special thing. You can count on each of the artists to be engaging, familiar, and compelling like a skilled storyteller, breezing through cool and impressive rhythms with virtuosity.

Faculty performers include Jason Janas, Michelle Dorrance, Derick Grant, Nicholas Young and Chloe Arnold.

Get advance tickets by calling 919-929-2787 for $15, $10 for festival participants, $13 for ArtsCenter Arts Club Members. Get them at the door for $17.

Here’s a video of Derick Grant at the 2013 Zurich Tap Festival to whet your (t)appetite.

Check out the class schedule and registration information for the North Carolina Rhythm Tap Festival, hosted by the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble at the Ballet School of Chapel Hill.

  1. Seems like a different kind of tapping that guy does. Should be a cool show!

  2. All the rhythm tap soloists have a unique and individual style… it will be a very cool show!
