The Rusty Bucket Kids TV Show’s Roxanna Demers wins a Carolina Music Award!

History’s Heroes: The Rusty Bucket Kids TV Show is pleased to announce that Roxanna Demers, one of the lead actors of the TV series, was recognized for her musical talent. On Saturday night, the 6th annual Carolina Music Awards named Roxanna Demers the Country/Rock Youth Artist of the Year. The red carpet event, held at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh, recognized Carolina artists in Rock, Hip Hop, Youth, Bluegrass, Americana, R&B, and Country.

Roxanna Demers engaged with other musicians, interviewers and industry professionals on the red carpet before the Carolina Music Awards show. The first award of the evening was for Country/Rock Youth Artist. The nominee names were read aloud, and the winner, Roxanna Demers was announced. Roxanna headed to the stage to receive her award. After a gracious acceptance speech, she was escorted backstage for photo and interview sessions.

Roxanna has been singing country rock songs publicly since 2009 with The Rusty Bucket Band ( The band has several albums featuring songs from the TV series, History’s Heroes: The Rusty Bucket Kids (HH: TRBK). Craig Brandwynne, of Center Sound Records, and Living Arts College produced the songs that Roxanna sings with The Rusty Bucket Band. Craig composed and directed the music for the TV pilot for which the show received regional Emmy® nominations for the music, writing and set design. Roxanna & The Rusty Bucket Band have been performing at venues such as downtown Apex, the Raleigh Convention Center, Festival for the Eno, Shakori Hills, and Koko Booth Amphitheater.

History’s Heroes: The Rusty Bucket Kids is a new, family-friendly, television and multi-screen show, combining educational content with family entertainment – edutainment. The Rusty Bucket Kids live in fictitious Peak City, played by the Town of Apex, and frequent The Rusty Bucket Store ( in historic downtown Apex. Roxanna Demers portrays Roxanna Peakssen, and JohnColeman Demers plays JohnColeman Peakssen. The siblings travel back in time on Steamy – The Time Travel Express™, featuring the New Hope Valley Railway ( Roxanna and John Coleman visit famous people of U.S. history, who are still in their teenage years. The show has received the highest approval for all-age family viewing from The Dove Foundation. HH: TRBK television show is produced in Apex, New Hill and Bonsal.
