About the Play
Helium is a comedy about one of the serious aspects of growing older. It’s the story of Mrs.Molly Kingsley, a retired high school chemistry teacher in her eighties who is struggling with dementia. Gramms, as she is called by her family, navigates her life beyond the boundaries of time and space with consequences both humorous and sobering. Accompanying her on her emotional journey are her divorced daughter, an older teenage grandson and his younger brother, Mrs. Kingsley’s nurse, and a former student.
