Twin City Stage Announces Auditions for “Pride and Prejudice”

PrideAndPrejudice-small

Twin City Stage will hold auditions for Pride and Prejudice at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2 at the Arts Council Theatre, 610 Coliseum Drive, Winston-Salem.  No appointment is necessary.

Finding a husband is hardly Elizabeth Bennet’s most urgent priority.  But with four sisters, an overzealous match-making mother, and a string of unsuitable suitors, it’s difficult to escape the subject.  When the independent-minded Elizabeth meets the handsome but enigmatic Mr. Darcy, one question prevails: can they possibly look beyond his pride and her prejudice to make the best match of all?  Jane Austen’s classic 1813 novel comes to life in this refreshingly fast-paced and engaging new adaptation by Jon Jory.

Sharon Andrews will direct Pride and Prejudice.  There are roles available for 8 females (ages 14-50) and 6 males (ages 17-60).

A style workshop will be offered on Monday, November 24 from 7-9 pm, taught by Leah Roy.  While not required for auditions – and not restricted to those planning to audition – this class will serve as an introduction to the etiquette, posture and social mores of Edwardian England.  The workshop will be held at the Arts Council Theatre; there is no cost and no appointment is required.

Pride and Prejudice performance dates will be February 6-8 & 12-15, 2015.  All performances will be held at the Arts Council Theatre.  For more information, please call Twin City Stage at (336) 748-0857 x201 or visit the website at www.twincitystage.org.
