Twin City Stage to Hold Auditions for its Musical Summer Camp
Twin City Stage will hold auditions for its high school musical summer camp, Cyrano de Burger Shack, on Saturday, April 18 at 11 am. The camp, which is for ages 13-19, will offer roles for up to 15 boys and 15 girls, plus an ensemble. Those auditioning are asked to prepare a short song and wear comfortable clothing and shoes, as they will be taught a dance combination as part of the audition. The teens will be auditioning for a spot in the camp, not a particular role. Call backs and casting will happen on the first day of camp.
Those planning to audition are asked to pre-register on the www.childrenstheatrews.org website.
Cyrano is king of the local Burger Shack, but he can’t seem to win the love of his best friend, Roxanne. When Roxanne confesses her crush on the new burger-flipper, Christian, Cyrano decides that playing Cupid is better than sitting out of the game. An updated, modern-day version of Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac, this rollicking musical features hit contemporary pop songs such as “We Got the Beat,” “Firework,” “Allstar,” and “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).”
Camp dates for Cyrano de Burger Shack will be July 6-26, culminating with three main stage performances July 24-26. Cheri Van Loon will direct the production and Alex Boese will stage manage. Tuition for the three week, full day camp is $575, and scholarship opportunities are available.
