APEX, N.C. (October 2015) – The creator of the multi-Emmy®-nominated pilot episode of History’s Heroes:, entitled “Lincoln, Journey to 16,” John Demers, makes final push for funds during the last week of Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to raise $10,000.00.

“All Aboard, is what I keep telling everyone right now” states John Demers, “with the goal in sight I am asking everyone to share our link to our crowdfunding campaign, and to give $1, $2, $5 or $20 as we finish our campaign October 9th. Our family, friends and fans have been giving, and we have almost $7000.

The production is raising the funds to re-edit the original pilot episode. The new edit will help tell the story from today and make some slight changes to the storyline. This year cast and crew returned to production with distribution in place in key TV markets. Six 30-minute episodes have distribution in the greater Raleigh, North Carolina area on WRAL TV. Distribution national and internationally begin this January with stops in Florida at NAPTE and KidScreen, both the first markets for 2016 for our international and national distribution partners.

Whistle Stop Media’s head of creative and business development, John Demers, is responsible for producing, marketing and distributing the live-action family-friendly television and multi-screen series.

Tim Bell, Konrad Arnold, and Robert Gordon of Twin Maples Media Group are working alongside Whistle Stop Media to complete production on the episodes.

According to Demers, “History’s Heroes: fulfills the broadcasters’ need for Educational and Institutional programming (E/I) requirements and satisfies viewer demand for live-action scripted TV. Technology will be used to further enhance the story and deliver additional story content and engage fans who come to Apex, NC in real story world experiences. The TV series will bring history to life with the likes of Abe Lincoln, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and Girl Scout founder, Juliette Gordon Low, and the current episode in production Louisa May Alcott.

The pilot episode of the television show was recipient of three regional Emmy® nominations; one each for writing, music and production design. It is also the winner of a Silver Telly Award and a Bronze People’s Choice Telly Award, along with The Dove Foundation’s approval for “all age viewing.”

The series is filmed primarily in the Apex area (known as Peak City), The Rusty Bucket Shop and in Bonsal, home of the New Hope Valley Railway and Steamy, the Time Travel Express™.
