The 2019 Grammy Award winners for Best Rock Album, Greta Van Fleet, hit Raleigh Thursday at the Red Hat Amphitheater.
This young band, between the ages of 19 to 22, consist of three Kiszka brothers and a friend all from Frankenmuth, Michigan. Brothers Josh on vocals, his twin Jake on guitar and youngest brother Sam is on bass and keyboards. Danny Wagner on drums completes this outstanding and talented band formed in 2012.
You can hear their Led Zeppelin sound, but Josh said his style came about naturally. Although he did not know who Led Zeppelin was until high school, Robert Plant has been a influence.
GVF also carry a 60/70s vibe on stage and in their performance. Their dress (including their lack of shoes and opting to perform barefoot) and instruments carry that retro era of look and style. All wired up old school except maybe Danny back there behind the drum kit.
