Weird Al

“Weird Al” Yankovic returns to the Koka Booth Amphitheater where he had preformed a partial engagement canceled due to pending thunderstorms in 2015.

This time around the “Stings Attached Tour” included local symphony orchestras. For this particular show we had the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra opening the night and then accompanying Al’s band.

The grounds were full with adults and children turning this into quite the family night. Al’s antics included parodies, costumes for he and his band members and bazaar  videos in the background. I heard one little girl state “mommy, he’s silly”.

I wish we photographers were allowed to take pictures during the full show. The standard “first 3 songs only” does not show the full story of what he gives his audience for his live performances. With limited songs we are allowed to photograph, we miss out on the viking helmets, Devo outfits, Nirvana, the rapper and no guitar smashing finally for “You Don’t Love Me Anymore”.

“He’s silly mommy, he’s silly.”
