Cinema, Inc’s fifth film in its current series is the 2010 film Winter’s Bone on Sunday January 13, 2013 at 7 pm in the Rialto Theatre, 1620 Glenwood Ave (near Five Points), Raleigh, NC. This is a most unusual thriller that received numerous Academy Award nominations when it first came out. Reviewers liked it very much; Rotten Tomatoes rating 94%. If she fails to track down her father, Ree, her younger siblings, and their disabled mother will soon be homeless. A thriller as bleak as its hardscrabble landscape, Winter’s Bone earned Academy Award nominations for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actress (Lawrence) and Best Supporting Actor (John Hawkes).
