Little Kids Cook – Salsa-riffic
Wednesday, May 1 or Thursday, May 23 | 9am-12pm
Ages 3-5

It’s a fiesta! Our little chefs will be elbows deep in tomatoes and veggies making “So Simple Salsa” and fixing homemade tortillas. Iron Man 3 3D in IMAX at Marbles

Marvel’s Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. Playdate with an Artist | featuring Georges Le Chevallier
Friday, May 3 — Saturday, May 18
Playdate with an Artist brings local artists to the museum for hands-on, minds-on creative inspiration. The series focuses on Marbles Create|Innovate initiative, giving kids the tools and resources to imagine, invent, experiment and solve. Join local artist Georges Le Chevallier throughout the month of May as we play with wind and art. Help Georges make the melodies of a wind chime a feature in Hideaway Grove. Bring the kids to create some elements of the wind-chime or make a mini wind chime for your own backyard. Drop-in and innovate! Create|Innovate on First Friday at Marbles
Friday, May 3 | 5-8pm – OPEN LATE!
The Triangle Youth String Sinfonia will be at Marbles to wow us with an interactive performance. Bring the family and enjoy these 7th-12th graders and their talents on the violin, viola, cello and bass. Engineer your own instrument out of recycled items. It’s never too early or too late to learn about music!

First Friday Kids Camp
Friday, May 3 | 5:30-8:30pm
Ages 3-5 and K5-11
$20 for the first child and $10 for each additional child for members
$25 for the first child and $15 for each additional child for non-members

All Dolled Up – Totally 80s Camp-in (General Public – Girls Only)
Saturday, May 4 | 6pm-9am
$45 per person; 6pm-9am
$22 per person for late night only; 6-9:30pm It’s a slumber party to the max for you and your favorite American Girl doll as we go totally 80s, from scrunchies to leg warmers. Pick a righteous hairdo for your doll at our beauty salon, make totally tubular matching jewelry and more! Get stoked for a visit to The Cupcakery followed by a totally 80s dance party! After sleeping in the museum, wake to a continental breakfast and, like, a totally rad screening of an IMAX movie. Dinner, snack and breakfast are included. Pre-registration required. Around Town Closed for Exciting Renovations
Starting Tuesday, May 7
Around Town will be temporarily closed for exciting changes! Kids will soon get to experience modern North Carolina agriculture in a new On the Farm exhibit and will enjoy expanded train tables and a renovated performance stage for puppet play. To accommodate these exciting renovations, Around Town will close on Tuesday, May 7, with a grand re-opening on Saturday, June 1.

Little Kids Learn – Nature! Backyard Explorers

Garden Sprouts – Trash to Treasure

Is your mom the coolest? Help us pay tribute to rockin’ moms everywhere by learning to make and maneuver the perfect breakfast-in-bed tray. We’ll create slammin’ Mother’s Day presents and have fun making Mom feel like a star on her special day.
