
Young Philharmonic Association string players perform
The Philharmonic Association is proud to present two short concerts on August 12. The young musicians in the summer-session Triangle Youth String Orchestra (TYSO) will perform at 3:00 pm and the summer-session Triangle Youth Jazz Ensemble (TYJE) will play at 4:45 pm. Both events are free and open to the public.
At 3:00 pm TYSO will be led by Jacob Wenger and will play two movements from Merle Isaac’s “Apollo Suite”, the “Bartered Bride” by Smetana, Pachelbel’s famous “Canon” and will finish with “The Square Dance”.
During the break, attendees may visit an exhibition by the Fine Arts League of Cary in the Cary Arts Center Gallery.
At 4:45 pm TYJE, directed by Dr. Gregg Gelb, will perform “Green Onions”, “The Creeper”, “Taco-Time”, “Azure Eyes”, “Mumbly Peg”, “Oclupaca” and “Hip-Hug-Her”. TYJE April 2012
