The world famous Lake Junaluska Singers will be performing at North Raleigh United Methodist Church Tuesday, July 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the NRUMC Sanctuary (8501 Honeycutt Road, Raleigh NC, 27615) for an outstanding concert in a gorgeous place.
Organized by their director, Dr, Glen Draper, in the summer of 1956, the singers have gained international recognition with their recordings, concerts, TV appearances and their unique sound. They were introduced in Denver, Colorado at the World Methodist Conference as the “World Methodist Singers.” They have traveled to South America, Wales, Panama, Costa Rica, The Islands and the Holy Land.
This summer’s concert tour will be Glenn Draper’s “farewell tour,” as he is retiring after nearly 45 years of directing this phenomenal group of college-age singers.
Their diverse program includes an eclectic mix of classical and contemporary, sacred and secular, and accompanied and unaccompanied singing, and is extremely “family friendly.” You’ll definitely hear about this concert afterward, so be sure you’re able to say you were there!
The suggested donation is $10 per person, but we’ll be “passing the plate” instead of selling tickets, so please just come. We know these are tough times, so don’t let that stand in the way of your attending this inspiring concert. If you are able, please give to this gift. If you are unable to give, please receive this gift. Plan to arrive early, as we expect a pretty “full house!”
