Kindie Rock Superstar Justin Roberts returns to Carrboro on March 20 with the Not Ready for Naptime Trio!
Perennial favorite Justin Roberts returns to The ArtsCenter on Saturday, March 20 for two family-friendly performances at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Well known for his “kindie” rock, Justin’s music strikes a chord with kids and parents alike, and age doesn’t have much to do with who will be found dancing in The ArtsCenter’s aisles. A 5-time Parents’ Choice GOLD award-winner, Roberts’s music has been compared to everyone from Elvis Costello and Fountains of Wayne to Paul Simon and Nick Lowe.
Known as the “hardest working man in children’s show business,” Justin performs all over the US. Millions have seen him on The Today Show; one of his songs was even featured on a World Series broadcast; and, some of his videos can be seen on Nickelodeon TV. Justin made his Carrboro debut in the fall of 2003, and the Triangle crowds and appreciation continue to grow with each passing year. His affinity for Carrboro and Chapel Hill is no secret, and The ArtsCenter is thrilled to have him and the Not Ready for Naptime Trio as part of the SuperFun Series again this year. SuperFun Shows at The ArtsCenter provide age-appropriate entertainment options for families on the weekend that are fun, affordable, and educational.
Shake off the winter blahs with this high-energy show! Justin and the Not Ready for Naptime Trio will perform a mix of old favorites, requests, and even some new songs from his forthcoming album Jungle Gym, set for release on June 8. Get ready to sing, dance, and interact with the music through hand motions led by Justin and the band. And, be on the lookout for special guest Willy the Whale, who occasionally takes the stage!
