DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC
Team up to Offer a Special Billy Elliot Halloween Treat
No tricks, just treat. DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center, and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina have teamed up to offer Billy Elliot fans a special Halloween Treat and the opportunity to help those in need.
During Halloween weekend, all performances of Billy Elliot the Musical – Saturday, October 30th at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday, October 31 at 2pm – will offer a special $25 ticket to those bringing four cans of food to donate to the Food Bank. This offer is limited to certain seating sections and based on availability.
“We have been welcomed by the North Carolina community during these past two months as we have rehearsed and prepared our show for its debut at DPAC,” said Nina Lannan, general manager of Billy Elliot the Musical. “We are proud to be able to help out with this effort as a small thanks in return for that wonderful support.”
Billy Elliot the Musical is the joyous celebration of one boy’s journey to make his dreams come true. Set in a small town, the story follows Billy as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, discovering a surprising talent that inspires his family and his whole community and changes his life forever.
“As the story of Billy Elliot inspires a community, it is a sobering thought that while DPAC will welcome its 500,000th patron during the matinee performance on the 30th, there are more than 500,000 North Carolinians that struggle each day to feed their families,” said Linda Charlton, Director of Marketing at DPAC. “We felt that if we could offer any kind of assistance to the Food Bank, now would be a great time with the upcoming holidays. Offering this special rate to our fans makes it a truly a win-win situation.”
