WILMINGTON, NC – The Battleship NORTH CAROLINA is honored to announce the support in restoration fund efforts from regional McDonald’s. Big Macs for the Battleship will be launched on Memorial Day Weekend, May 23 – 26, 2014. $.50 from every Big Mac® sandwich sold at participating stores will be donated to the restoration fund of the ship.
Denny Anderson, Owner/Operator of McDonald’s, states, “We are proud to help support the Battleship in its endeavors to maintain the historical integrity of the ship. By partnering with the NORTH CAROLINA, McDonald’s is helping restore the State’s Memorial that honors the Greatest Generation and all who have served.”
During the month of May, designated McDonald’s locations, will also host donation boxes on the counters for customer giving opportunities. The program was designed to resemble the nickels and dimes campaign that originally brought the ship to its permanent mooring location in 1961.

McDonald’s is also carrying forward the message with in store signage, inclusion in advertising and the special Big Macs promotion. Participating McDonald’s locations include Burgaw, Carolina Beach, Clinton, Fairmont, Hampstead, Leland, Lumberton, Newton Grove, Pembroke, Rocky Point, Shallotte, Southport, St. Pauls, Sunset Beach, Supply, Wallace, Warsaw, Whiteville and Wilmington, North Carolina.
