Auditions for the Regional Premiere of Equivocation by Bill Cain

Theatre In The Park will hold auditions for Equivocation by Bill Cain on Sunday, April 19th starting at 6:30pm. Production Dates June 5-21, 2015.

Shagspeare (after a contemporary spelling of the Bard’s name) is commissioned by Robert Cecil, the prime minister, to write the “true historie” of the gunpowder plot. But as Shag and the acting company of the Globe investigate the plot, they discover that the King’s version of the story might, in fact, be a cover-up.

A high-stakes political thriller with contemporary resonances, Equivocation gallops from the great Globe to the Tower of London to the halls of Parliament to the heart of Judith, Shag’s younger daughter, who finds herself unexpectedly at the very heart of the political, dramatic and—ultimately—human mystery.

Roles available for 5 men and 1 woman. All actors, with the exception of Shag and Judith, will play multiple parts.

For the audition, please prepare a contemporary monologue and be prepared to read from the script. Auditions will be by appointment only. Please call 919-831-6936 to schedule your audition time. Perusal scripts are available on a 48-hour loan.

Equivocation is directed by Jerry Sipp.
