Walnut Creek was packed last night. I have never seen them use the overfill parking before.
Evanescence was featured tonight with Lindsey Stirling opening. Both with an orchestra playing behind them.
Lindsey Stirling is the 2010 Americas Got Talent dancing “hip hop violinist” who was bounced in the quarter-finals by judge Piers Morgan telling her, “You’re not untalented, but you’re not good enough, I don’t think, to get away with flying through the air and trying to play the violin at the same time.”
Well Lindsey has a few music awards and LPs under her belt now. Her show was greatly entertaining with the music, dance, magic and acrobatics. Wish I had pictures from the full show. It was great.
Evanescence’s Amy Lee still has a great voice. Her vocals still hitting those highs as expected. But this was not a rock show. The band sat and played in the center of the orchestra. They sat… Amy stood and preformed her lyrics with a little head banging and hand waving. The only rock performer for the night was drummer, Will Hunt.
Don’t get me wrong. The music was different, but still good. However, when I go to a rock concert, I want a show.
