two young violinist from the Triangle Youth Symphony OrchestraDon’t miss the Philharmonic Association‘s Fall String Orchestra Concert on November 17th at 4:00 at the Cary Arts Center. The concert will be put on by both the Triangle Youth String Orchestra and the Triangle Youth String Sinfonia.

TYSO will open the concert with Richard Meyer’s exciting piece titled Dragonhunter.  Following that, the group will be performing Flight of the Furies by August Nolck, Downtown Suite for Strings  by Jay-Martin Pinner, and Concerto in G by Elliot Del Borgo.

Sinfonia’s portion of the concert will begin with an arrangement of the Overture to the Abduction from the Seraglio by Mozart.  The ensemble will then perform an arrangement of The Messiah followed by Jig from Gustav Holst’s St. Paul Suite for Strings.  The concert will conclude with a spooky favorite, Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky.
