On Tuesday, May 7th at 7:00 the Triangle Youth Orchestra and the Triangle Youth Symphony will perform their joint spring concert at Meymandi Concert Hall. Come out for an evening of enjoyable music played by enthusiastic young musicians! Both TYO and TYS’s portion of the concert feature some of the most well-liked and well-known pieces of classical literature.
The Triangle Youth Orchestra’s portion of the program, which begins at 7:00, includes arrangements of the following pieces: Handel’s “Overture to the Royal Fireworks Music”, Smetana’s “The Moldau”, and Mascagni’s “Cavalleria rusticana: Intermezzo”, Dvorak’s “Slavonic Dance No. 8”. The ensemble will also be performing Larry Clark’s “Engines of Resistance”.
The Triangle Youth Symphony’s program, which begins at 8:00, will include an arrangement of Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Procession of the Nobles”, selections from Bizet’s “Carmen Suite”, and the finale from Dvorak’s “Symphony No. 8”.
